How do I book a ticket for my Companion/PA?
Essential Companion tickets are intended for customers requiring additional support. This must be due to needs significant and in excess of what could be reasonably expected of family or friends already accompanying you.
Companions must be booked in advance during the booking process, when you purchase tickets for the exhibition. As companions are acting as a chaperone, they will not be offered a headset for the metaverse room.
To qualify for a Companion ticket, you will need to show one of the following forms of documentation upon arrival. Without this documentation we will be unable to honour the complimentary Companion/PA ticket.
Accepted forms of documentation include:
- Middle or Higher rate DLA for care and/or mobility.
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP) documentation.
- Evidence of being severely sight impaired.
- CredAbility Access Card with a “+1” category requirement.
- A recognised Assistance Dog ID card.
Please note that the guest requiring assistance must have a valid entry ticket. Documentation may not automatically award Essential Companion tickets for children under 16, as children are always required to be under the direct supervision of a responsible adult in our venues.
If the visitor is a child, to obtain a free Companion or PA ticket, there must be at least one full-priced General Admission ticket in the group.
Can I book a companion ticket alongside a Pharoah Package Ticket?
A Companion Standard Ticket is available alongside all our ticket types. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a Companion Pharoah Package Ticket due to the number of additional inclusions it has. Companions will be granted free admission on arrival (no ticket purchase is needed in advance), provided accepted forms of documentation are presented on the door (See FAQ: 'How do I book a ticket for my Companion/PA?' for more information).
Is there step free access to the venue?
The SEC Centre has automatic doors at both East and West entrances. Every hall in the SEC Centre is at ground level, therefore, making every event easily accessible for wheelchair users.
Low level trains run frequently between Glasgow Central/Argyle Street stations and Exhibition Centre station. Please note: Argyle Street station is not accessible by lift, so we recommend customers use Glasgow Central station if they require lift access.
On disembarking at Exhibition Centre, a lift is available to take customers to street level. On exiting the station, a covered walkway connects the station to our campus.
